Lacrosse Defense

Lacrosse Defense is my passion. I love the defensive side of the game. Protecting that goal and disrupting the offensive flow. I love the long stick defensive game. Long sticks are the enforcers. They have a clear advantage with their long sticks. How to or when to slide when to play man to man and when to clamp down in a tight or loose zone all are extremely fun componants of lacrosse defense.

And because I am such a sucker for the fast break, I just love turning very good agressive defense into fast break opportunities going the other way. I am a firm believer in pressure. In my oppinon good defense starts with hustle and presuring the ball.

Lacrosse Instruction

Always putting a stick on the ball gives you an opportunity to turn the ball over. This is my philosophy but there are many others. Tight zones. Loose man. These lacrosse defenses have there place as well. I prefer to use the sliding zone defense and always attack the ball. The more presure you apply to the ball the better especially at the younger age levels. As ball control and play improve you have to be more sound defensively to combat good movement.
