Lacrosse Substitutions

Can you make substitutions on the fly in lacrosse?

ANSWER

Yes on-the-fly substitutions are allowed in lacrosse. A player must leave the field of play completely then a fresh player can sub on the fly while the game is in play. The substituting team must maintain the correct numbers of players on each side of the mid line.

Along with on the fly substitutions regular player substitutions happen similar to basketball where a player reports in to the scorers table or "box", and then a horn signifies player changes during a stoppage of play.

Thanks,

Jamey
