New to Iowa, experienced High School LAX player

by Stacia
(Highlands Ranch, CO, US)

We are looking at moving to Dubuque, IA, but noticed that there is not any lacrosse there—A problem for our upcoming junior in high school who has played competitively, and is a captain for his high school team. Our move would be in June or July 2010, and want him to stay in the sport through camps and tournaments at the very least. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Stacia

ANSWER Lacrosse in Iowa is in its infancy, but like everywhere clubs are popping up here and there. I would start by checking with my friend Adam Edg of Central Iowa Lacrosse association.

If anyone would know about Lacrosse in Iowa Adam would. Good luck and please let us know what you find.

If anyone else can help Stacia out with info please comment below.

Thanks, Jamey

Dubuque LAX
by: Alan Temperly

I recently started a job in Dubuque IA in January 2010. My family is currently in Michigan and they will be joining me in June after school. My 7th grade son is finishing is last year of lacrosse in Michigan. My son love lacrosse so I want him to continue playing in Dubuque IA. I am currently the President of Waterford Youth Lacrosse Association and been coach lacrosse for 2 years. This of our Lacrosse Association web site www.waterfordfalconslax.com .

Dubuque does not have a lacrosse program. Once spring lacrosse season is over I will be devoting more time promoting lacrosse in Dubuque and starting a youth & high school lacrosse association. I would like to start a Boys HS JV, 7&8, and 5&6 grade teams for next season.

Send me an email at alant@at-computersolution.com
I am confidential we can get a team in Dubuque for spring of 2011.
